Welcome
The Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for our support and we receive thousands of calls for help every year.
The Legion was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex-Service community and over 450,000 members continue to ensure that this voice does not go unheard. Although the needs of ex-Service people have changed over the years, we are still there to safeguard their welfare, interests and memory. British service people are in action around the world every day of the year. They know that if they need our support - now or in the future - the Legion is always on active duty for them.
The Amsterdam Branch
The Amsterdam Branch is an active member of the British Legion covering the Randstad area of Holland (Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam) and all areas north of the country. We comprise of ex-patriate British as well as many Dutch members with an active interest in supporting our ex-Service community. Through fund raising activities such as social events we provide desperately needed funds for the continued support of ex-service personnel and their families, and we are also often called upon to attend ceremonies of rememberance at one of the many graves in the Netherlands where British service personnel have been laid to rest.
We welcome new members from all walks of life of any nationality, ex-serving or not - many people from many different walks of life make up the RBL's 450,000 members, with an estimated 11,000 of those being outside the United Kingdom. We get together at least once a month for a social evening so we can enjoy the comradeship that the Legion brings, and as well to raise vital funds for the continued support of ex-servicemen and their families.

We need your help!
The Royal British Legion survives purely on public and corporate funding, without which many people would not be able to benefit from the vital support the organisation continues to provide. By becoming a supporter of this worthy cause, you will be providing a vital lifeline to many of those who without this support would have nowhere to turn.
There are many ways to become involved, through donations both financial and of items for fundraising events, or even simply making poppies available for your colleagues. By supporting us in this way your organisation or companies profile can be raised significantly - in the UK the poppy is recognised as a brand by 97% of the population, and is increasingly more so being identified throughout the world.
